Fustrated over collecting Money

  • Jun. 9th, 2009 at 9:33 AM

I now know how bill collectors feel. I have been trying to collect my pet deposit back from my last apartment complex (on my now DEAD cat) with no such luck. They say it was extra rent I had to pay. BS. I called Project Sentinel and they said - Small Claims Court. ($400)

Also Family Visiting has changed at the prison. I no longer mail in a money order and Og selects the menu, but we found this out 2 days after I mailed my $90 money order. I have to order my food for the visit out of a catalog instead. I keep getting mixed messages with the last one saying - oh we're not going to refund any of the money back to anyone.($90.??)

I signed up for comcast internet services shortly after I moved in here and I was offered a bonus $50 in comcast bucks if I was switching from another provider. I was, I have, and now I can no longer contact the contractor I was doing this with. ($50)

And the last thing is that I had a lawyer case opened from a small car accident I was in. There is a settlement due to me, but the person I'm supposed to receive it from now has gone awol. No emails answered, no phonecalls returned.($1500)

Yes I'm depressed, yes I'm lonely, Yes I'm frustrated, and I feel that I can't do anything right. These are the 4 things that have been on my TO DO list for the past 6 weeks.ARGGHHH!!!!!

Death of my best friend - Clea

  • May. 24th, 2009 at 8:46 PM

I had to do the hardest thing in my life today. I had to put my cat of 16 years to sleep. She had been there when I went away to college, during the abusive relationships, during the lonely times, during the poor times where I couldn't even afford catfood. I would have to scrape the mold off my leftovers from my fridge and feed those to her. My wonderful most friendliest cat who got shot by a pellet gun by someone who hated cats, who got locked in a footlocker for a week and still survived.

Last sunday I had taken her to the vet because she wasn't walking so well and had taken a tumble off my tall bed. She was put on pain medicines, and she seemed to be doing better. However, starting thursday night she started vomiting (on my bed). We're not sure if the medicine caused a bleeding ulcer or not, but for the past 3 days she was puking up dark vomit. (later I find out that was blood in her vomit) She stopped eatting and drinking. I was forcing water into her via syringe in her mouth, but she wasn't happy about it. There was still more output of liquids than input. Her problems could of also been linked to the Nutro CatFood recall, but due to finances I will never know.

She was keeping me going, especially with Dave being gone and Guillermo back in training with Guide Dogs. I now have no pets, no companions here in my new apt. Dave has been notified, but of course can't do anything about the situation. I am in mourning.

He was born on 4-4-08. He now weighs 70-80lbs. He's going back up to Guide Dogs for the Blind for level 2 training on Monday. He has been such an awesome dog to raise and I will miss him dearly. After this - next time I see him will hopefully be at his graduation.
I Love You Guillermo

I have a dad who likes to drive cross country for vacations and Nearly all my relatives live on the east coast. My dad now delivers motorhomes throughout North America. My mom gets tired of him being around and says "don't you need to do some driving and make some money or something" They're the people who bought a motorhome to retire in.

My mini vacation with Og (Dave)

  • Nov. 28th, 2008 at 8:55 PM

I just came home from my 3 days, 2 nights with my husband. This was the first time in 2 years that we have actually been together without the watchful eyes of big brother over us. (We still had to play by their rules though). I was nervous and scared fearing that the past was the past and maybe I didn't still love him like I used to - but I do. I cried Thursday afternoon - missing my family for this was my first thanksgiving with out them, but I would of cried if I was with them and not my hubby. It would of been better if I could of called them at least to talk to them, but again - playing by big brothers rules here! We had charred/dehydrated(from overcooking) fried chicken, and a mexican feast of tortillas, spanish rice (enough to feed an army), and dehydrated-reconstituted refried beans (also enough to feed an army). We laughed so hard Dave had projectile rice coming out of his mouth, and I pulled a muscle in my side and we cried tears of joy from laughing so hard. Definitely a memorable first thanksgiving as husband and wife and our food can only get better from here!

Dave - great news

  • Sep. 19th, 2008 at 11:44 PM

After days, weeks, months, years - it looks like we are finally going to have a family/congital visit!!!!

I have made many many phone calls to his counselor's supervisor, and even though their policy is that they cannot disclose any information about inmates. (even to families) I have gotten on their nerves that they have gotten off their butts and started processing the paperwork.

The counselor has been sent the paperwork on the case from court 4 times, I have sent in the wedding certificate 2 times, and I have to send it again one more time, because they "forgot" to put it in the file, but word is that the counselor processed the paperwork on Thursday.

Yea US!!!!!

Guide Dogs - idiots who are unaware!

  • Sep. 19th, 2008 at 11:19 PM

I have been running across so many idiots who do not understand that a guide dog, or any type of service animal under ADA law is allowed places.

I have been told that unless I am actually blind, I am not allowed to bring my "puppy in training" into my local post office (on Moorpark) - even after talking to the manager. I somewhat laugh at this because my drivers license actuallys says "Corrective Lenses Required" - which would indicate some level of blindness. I have also been told the same thing for bringing him with me to the prison to see Dave/Og.

I took Guillermo into my local Safeway (Midtown) where I was stopped by the security officer and asked - where my permit was for my dog. I asked him to talk to the store manager, and eventually once finding a supervisor of Safeway - I was allowed to continue to shop.

I have also walked into Dollar Tree where I was yelled at across the store, stopped and told I could not bring the dog in. I asked if they allow service animals, and they were kinda baffled and not knowing how to answer I continued to walk away. They said "we have food for sale in this store, we can't allow him in here." I said to them, he's allowed in ALL grocery stores, what would make a difference here?

Tonight I was wanting something sweet to eat and stopped at Yum Yum donuts and walked in with Guillermo. The guy behind the counter said the dog could not be in the store. I asked - excuse me? You don't allow service animals? He said no, not in here. I said would a letter from Santa Clara Health and Safety change your mind - you know, the ones who allow you to stay open, or can close you down if the place is not clean. He muttered something, I got the letter and showed it to him. Reluctantly he served me my old fashioned glazed donut I got to go and left.

All these times I have been in these places, Guillermo has had his Halti on and his green Guide Dogs for the Blind, "puppy in training" jacket on. I have been stopped in other grocery stores, but once they see the jacket they say "Hi! - Oh, he's a guide dog?, Is there anything I can help you find?", and then walk away. I don't mind that, or educating people who come up to him and ask questions, but for those who want to argue ADA and not allow access, I want to just scream in their face, smack them up the side of the head, and have them understand. A lot of times I have to take a deep breath and think before I speak.

I am volunteering my time, training this puppy so that it can help a blind person when it completes it training, and actually I have a vested interest in the training. I know I will be blind one day. This is not a surprising thing for me, it's genetics unfortunately. Both maternal and paternal female sides of the family have had macular degeneration for many many years. My g'ma who is 95 now has it, my g'ma who died at 88 had it, my great g'ma had it on both sides and my great great g'ma probably had it and was the reason why they were both blind. My aunt currently has the floaters in her eyes, and my mom has had problems driving at night for about the past 10 or so years.

Thank you for allowing me to bitch, and please - educate those around you about service animals!

So Proud of Guillermo

Today we went to the Monterey County Fair and got to walk around the fair, experience the chaos of rides, people, food, exhibits and animals. Our Field/Area Representative was there and this was her first time seeing Guillermo. She evaluates us and the dog to see how well we're doing. In working with Guillermo, she said he was very easy and responsive on the leash, and I had warned her that he is a love-bug, and when she had bent over him he greeted her with a lick. :) After walking around the fair, and her watching him, she was just so amazed in how easy going he was and yes he is curious, but didn't react to anything in a negative way. The roller coaster going around within 6 ft of him - no response. He looked, but no jumps, no cowering. He has been a pleasure to work with, and a relatively easy dog to train. It's been a fabulous 2 months together.

Visiting Og on His Birthday

  • Jun. 22nd, 2008 at 11:44 PM

Yesterday 6/21 was Og's Birthday. I went to go visit him, but we ran into problems. I got there nice and early and our visit started at about 9:30am. Unfortunately there were a lot of people who came to visit and so visits started to be terminated so other people could come in. Well, our visit was terminated at 11:20am. We weren't able to finish our lunch, have cake, really even say good bye. The Sargent in the dorm where he lives had promised him that his visit wouldn't be canceled - especially because it was his birthday. It also became apparent later that the visits that were terminated were those where there was only one person there to see the inmate. THIS IS WHERE I/DAVE NEED PEOPLE TO PLEASE TURN IN YOUR VISITING FORMS. According to Title 15 regarding visiting is that if you live less than 250 miles and/or have visited within the past 30 days your visit may be terminated if needed. I had not been there in 70 days due to Con, (last date 4/12 and only 3 times for the whole year) but due to where I live and him being there on a hardship we got screwed. I pretty much spent $75 bucks on gas and $30 on food for the visit less than 2 hours when for the same price I could of had a 4 1/2 hour collect phone call with him. Carpooling would of cut down the cost (especially when I get 13mpg) and we probably would not have been terminated.

Og and I are pissed all the way around.

Guillermo was his name - o

  • Jun. 13th, 2008 at 8:40 PM

Yes - I got my puppy today. His birthday was 4/4/08 so he is 10 weeks old today. His name is Guillermo. I was going to nickname him Mo or MoMo, but he knows his name - or he turns his head when you say it. He also has been really good about pottying so far. No accidents (keeping fingers crossed) I've been able to take him out and let him circle and tell him "Do your Business" and he goes. He his huge and heavy. He will grow up to be a large dog, but he is so sweet and cute. He whines if left alone (a bit of separation anxiety I believe) but we'll work on that. He's also a possibility of being an International Dog, which means going to someone out of this country. We'll see.
